Privacy Policy

We keep this simple. ShiaSoCal is a public, read-only calendar. You don't need an account to use it, and we don't build profiles of visitors or sell anyone's data.

Information we don't collect

There are no accounts, logins, or sign-up forms on ShiaSoCal. We don't ask for your name, email, or any personal details to browse the calendar, and we don't run advertising or cross-site tracking.

Cookies and preferences

ShiaSoCal stores a small number of functional preferences in your browser so the site remembers how you like to view it: specifically your calendar's start day of the week and your light or dark theme choice. These stay on your device, are used only to render the site, and are never used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic: how many people visit and which pages are popular. It is privacy-first and cookieless: it does not use fingerprinting, does not track you across other sites, and does not collect personal information.

Error monitoring

To keep the site working, we use Sentry to detect and diagnose errors and performance problems. When something goes wrong, Sentry may record technical diagnostics such as your browser type, the page you were on, and the error details, which can include your IP address. This information is used only to find and fix problems.

Event information

The events shown on ShiaSoCal come from public announcements published by mosques and community organizations across Southern California. If you represent an organization and would like information corrected or removed, email us at [email protected].

Third-party links

The Service links to organizations' websites and calendars that we don't control. Their privacy practices are their own, so please review their policies when you visit them.

Children's privacy

ShiaSoCal is a general-audience community calendar and is not directed at children. Because we don't collect personal information from visitors, we don't knowingly collect any from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above.
